26 September 2010 | Yesterday, September 25th at the annual "Victors Day" at Ursel airport, I received a CD from Marc Devisscher, brother of Ivan(+).
A compilation of 56 pictures, taken on SDW airfield during 1967 > 1970. Mainly gliders, as Marc was a fervent glider pilot with Ghent Aviation Club.

- New Photo that was taken July 19, 1944 by a Spitfire MK XI of the 14th Squadron of the 7th PRG. Pilot was Lt John S Blyth and altitude was approximately 30,000ft.

21 Mar 2007 | NA DE SAMENKOMST WOENSDAG 14 MAART 2007, GROTE HOEVEELHEID VAN NIEUWE FOTO'S. Hier gaat mijn speciale dank aan Jan Cortvriend met 150 dia's, de ongelofelijke gedigitaliseerde DVD van de laatste landing op SDW 31 dec 1984 dank zij Luc Van Wijnsberge (Helaas door plaatsgebrek niet op de site te plaatsen. Uit deze film heb ik wel twee foto's kunnen isoleren, nl Ewald Delbare en Roger de Cuyper. Niet zeer duidelijk maar toch te gebruiken.

Guy Gildemyn maakt mij opmerkzaam dat de foto van Stas de Richelle in topic "Air Crashes" niet correct is. De twee personen op de foto zijn van Freddy Van Geluwe & Pierre Voortman. Een bijgevoegde foto van Stas, staande naast Henri Gildemyn in cockpit, is nu vervangen in dit tragisch vlieg accident.

DISASTER, shortly after the meeting, I had a total computer crash. The whole website was erased. Luckily, all documents and pictures had been stored on a different computer. A total reconstruction of the site was the result. |
